The best Zapier alternatives
Chosen by what you automate.

The best Zapier alternatives depend on what your Zaps actually do. If they move data between back-office apps, the honest answers are other automation platforms, and this page covers them fairly. If most of your Zaps exist to answer leads and chase them up, Bold Agent Kit replaces the chain with one AI agent on every channel, for $25 a month.

Every channel wired into one agent and out to the tools behind it: email, SMS, phone, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE, Slack, Discord, X, Reddit, Bluesky, website chat, campaign sequences and follow-ups on one side; HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Calendly, HubSpot Meetings, Zoho Bookings, Acuity Scheduling, Cal.com, Square Appointments, Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix and Squarespace on the other.

Why people look for Zapier alternatives

Zapier is where a lot of businesses first automate anything. Its homepage counts more than 9,000 apps, and the idea fits in a sentence: when something happens in one app, do something in another. A Zap is a trigger followed by one or more actions, and around Zaps Zapier has built Agents, Chatbots, Forms, Tables, Interfaces and Canvas. For connecting the tools a business already pays for, it reaches a very long way.

People start looking for Zapier alternatives for a handful of recurring reasons. The bill is measured in tasks, one for every successful action a Zap runs, so a busy workflow needs a bigger allowance as it gets busier, and Zapier Agents are measured separately again. Some teams want to run automation on their own servers, or write code where a visual step runs out. Some already live inside Microsoft and would rather automate where their data is. And some want AI that does a job from start to finish, rather than a workflow with an AI step in the middle of it.

There is one more group, and it is the one Bold Agent Kit is built for. Look at their Zaps and most of them are about leads: a new form entry creates a contact, an inbound text triggers a reply, an AI step drafts an answer, a calendar step books, a Delay holds back a follow-up, and a filter tries to stop that follow-up when the person replies. That is a lead-response system assembled from parts. The alternative to it is not another way of joining the parts together. It is a system where the parts are already one thing.

So this list does two jobs, and tries to do both honestly. If your automation is general work, the real Zapier alternatives are other automation platforms, and five of them are written up below from their own websites: what each one is, how it charges, and when it is the better choice. If your automation is really lead response and follow-up, read the first pick, because it replaces the chain of Zaps with one agent that answers chat, texts, calls, email and DMs, books the appointment and follows up until the lead replies, books or opts out.

Tasks add up as volume growsZapier counts a task for each successful action, so a busier month needs a bigger allowance.

Four reasons people move off Zapier

Each of these follows from how Zapier describes its own products and billing. None of them makes Zapier the wrong tool; they are the points at which people start comparing.

01

Billing that follows every action

Zapier bills Zaps by tasks, and its help centre defines a task as any successful action that runs. Triggers, filters, paths and built-in tools such as Formatter and Delay do not count; the actions do. Plans come with a monthly task allowance, and at the limit new Zap runs are held until the billing cycle resets unless you upgrade or turn on pay-per-task. For a workflow whose volume is steady, that is easy to plan around. For one that grows with every campaign, people start looking at platforms that count something else.

02

Agents on a separate meter

Zapier Agents work from instructions, triggers, actions and knowledge sources, and they are billed separately from Zaps, by activities. Using a trigger, answering from a knowledge source, running an action and searching the web each count as one activity, on an allowance of its own that does not touch your tasks. A team running both Zaps and Agents is keeping an eye on two usage figures, and some would rather keep an eye on one, or none.

03

Seats on the lower plans

On Zapier's published plans, Free and Professional come with one seat, Team with 25 users and Enterprise with unlimited users. A business where several people want to build or edit workflows reaches the Team plan sooner than the task count alone would suggest. Platforms that do not charge by the person, or that price the whole account, tend to join the shortlist at this point.

04

A system you own, piece by piece

Everything Zapier runs is something you designed: the trigger, each action, the paths that branch and the filters that decide what runs. That is what flexibility means, and it also means somebody keeps it working as forms, offers and apps change. When the thing being maintained is a customer-facing lead-response system, a chat tool, an SMS tool, a booking tool and an AI model joined by Zaps, some businesses decide they would rather buy the system than keep building it.

What to look for in a Zapier alternative

Start with what your Zaps actually do, then judge the alternatives on three things. The answers point different readers to different tools, which is why the list below is ranked for one reader and written fairly for the rest.

01 / The job

What the automation is for

Sort your Zaps into two piles. Data moving between internal apps, reports, alerts and records kept in step: that is general automation, and another automation platform is its natural home. Conversations with customers, first replies, bookings and follow-up: that is lead response, and it may not need a workflow tool at all. Most businesses have some of each, and the right answer can be two tools, each doing the job it was built for.

02 / The meter

What it counts, and when that grows

Every platform on this list counts something different: tasks per action, credits per module action, executions per workflow run, credits pooled per user, Applets, or users and bots. Read each vendor's own definition, work out which of your workflows run most often and how many steps each has, and see which model grows with your business and which grows with your usage. A flat price for the account is also an option, where the job allows it.

03 / The upkeep

Who keeps it working

A builder gives you control of every step and asks someone to own it. Self-hosting gives you control of the servers and asks someone to run them. A finished product gives you less to design and less to maintain, in exchange for doing one job rather than any job. Be honest about how much time your team has for building and fixing, because that decides the trade-off better than any feature list.

The best Zapier alternatives, ranked

This list is ordered for one reader: the business whose Zaps are mostly about answering leads and following them up. For that reader, Bold Agent Kit is first, because it replaces the chain rather than rebuilding it somewhere else. If your automation is general work across apps, start at number two. Make, n8n, Lindy, Power Automate and IFTTT are the real alternatives for that, each described from its own website, with how it charges and when it is the better choice.

We make Bold Agent Kit, which is why it is first on this list. Every other entry is described from its own website, including when it is the better choice.

01 / Best for Zaps that exist to answer and follow up leads

Bold Agent Kit

Bold Agent Kit is not an automation platform, and it is first on this list for one kind of reader only. It is one AI agent for customer conversations. It answers email, text messages, phone calls, website chat and eleven social DM platforms, including Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram, from a single knowledge base of your documents, Q&A pairs, prices and pages. A genuine enquiry is answered in seconds on the channel it arrived on; the agent offers real open slots from your calendar, books the one the lead picks, and follows up on a schedule until the lead replies, books or opts out.

That covers the jobs a lead-response stack in Zapier is usually built to do, without the stack. The chat widget, the text number, the phone line, the AI model, the booking step and the stop rule are part of the agent rather than apps joined by Zaps. Every conversation lands in one inbox, where you can take over any thread and hand it back, and every handle a person uses, the chat cookie, the email address, the phone number and the social account, is merged into one contact. It connects directly to eighteen CRMs, calendars and stores, including HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Jobber, ServiceTitan, Google Calendar, Calendly and Shopify.

Choose it when most of your automation exists to win and keep leads. Do not choose it to replace Zapier's general work: it does not move data between back-office apps, it does not connect to Zapier, Make or n8n, and it has no public API or webhooks to build on. Many businesses keep an automation platform for operations and put Bold Agent Kit on the customer conversations. It is $25 a month or $200 a year for the account, with unlimited agents, running on your own AI key and your own carrier, both billed to you at cost.

02 / Best for visual workflows with branching logic

Make

Make, formerly Integromat, is the closest like-for-like Zapier alternative on this list. Instead of a list of steps, you build scenarios on a visual canvas: a scenario is a series of modules that moves and transforms data between apps, and routers and filters let one scenario branch in several directions. Its homepage counts more than 3,000 pre-built apps. Alongside the canvas it has Make AI Agents, which its help centre lists as an open beta, Maia by Make for building automations through conversation, Make Grid for an overview of everything you have automated, and an MCP server.

Make bills by credits, which replaced operations as its billing unit. Each module action counts as one credit, AI features running on Make's own AI provider add credits based on tokens, and plans are sized by monthly credit allowance, with extra credits sold in bundles. Scenarios run on a schedule, every 15 minutes by default and adjustable, or start immediately when a webhook or an instant trigger fires, so timing is a setting you choose for each scenario.

Choose Make when you want to see the whole flow drawn out, when your workflows branch more than a straight list of steps shows comfortably, and when your team is happy to design and maintain scenarios. It is a general automation platform, as Zapier is, so the same question applies to any lead-response Zaps you rebuild in it: whether you want to own them as scenarios, or would rather move that one job to a finished system.

03 / Best for technical teams who want to self-host or write code

n8n

n8n describes itself as AI agents and workflows you can see and control. You build visually, and where a step runs out you can write JavaScript or Python anywhere in the workflow. Its homepage counts over 500 integrations, and its HTTP Request node reaches anything with an API. For AI, n8n has an AI Agent node that works with any LLM, with memory for contextual conversations, tools the agent can call, and human-in-the-loop approval steps where a decision needs a person to sign it off.

What sets n8n apart from Zapier is where it can run. n8n Cloud is fully managed, with n8n handling hosting, updates and scaling. The Community Edition is free to self-host with almost the complete feature set; its documentation says it needs setup through npm, Docker or a server, and the infrastructure and technical resources to run it. The source is on GitHub under what n8n calls a fair-code licence. Cloud plans are billed by executions, where one execution is a single run of the whole workflow however many steps it has, all plans include unlimited users, unlimited workflows and every integration, and there is a 14-day free trial with no card needed.

Choose n8n when your team is technical, when you want automation on your own infrastructure, or when your workflows have many steps and a per-run count suits them better than a per-action one. Like Zapier and Make, it is a builder: lead response built in n8n is a set of workflows somebody designs, hosts if self-hosted, and maintains.

04 / Best for an AI assistant that does work for your team

Lindy

Lindy calls itself an AI teammate. Rather than a workflow you draw, it is an AI agent that connects to your tools, learns about your company and does work for the whole team: managing email, scheduling meetings, updating records, recording and summarising meetings, producing reports, decks and dashboards, and running routines on a schedule. It works where your team already is, in Slack, iMessage and Gmail, connects to more than 1,000 tools and supports MCP. Its site says it asks before it alters anything, such as sending an email, updating a ticket or publishing a document.

Lindy is priced per user. Each seat adds its plan's credits to one shared pool that the whole workspace draws from, and credits measure the work done. At the time of writing its published plans start at $29.99 a month per user, and new teammates who join through Slack get their first week free. That model suits an assistant whose value grows with the number of people who use it.

Choose Lindy when the reason you are leaving Zapier is that you want the AI to do the work rather than sit in one step of it, and when the work is for your own team: inboxes, meetings, research and updates across your tools. If the job is answering your customers by phone, by text and in DMs, that is the gap the first pick on this list fills, and the Bold Agent Kit vs Lindy page sets the two side by side.

05 / Best for businesses already built on Microsoft

Microsoft Power Automate

Power Automate is Microsoft's automation platform, and it describes itself as an end-to-end automation solution built for enterprise. It has two halves. Cloud flows automate apps, data and services running in the cloud or on-premises, which is the part most like Zapier. Desktop flows use robotic process automation to work legacy systems through their user interface, with prebuilt or custom actions. Microsoft counts more than 1,400 prebuilt, certified connectors, including Dynamics 365, SAP and Salesforce, and Copilot lets you create, edit and extend flows in natural language.

It is priced by user or by bot, on yearly terms. At the time of writing, Power Automate Premium, which covers cloud flows, attended desktop flows and process mining, is published at $15 a user a month, paid yearly. Power Automate Process, for unattended desktop flows, is priced per bot, and a hosted version adds a Microsoft-hosted virtual machine. A free trial covers cloud flows and standard connectors.

Choose Power Automate when your business already runs on Microsoft and your data lives in its apps, when you need to automate a legacy desktop system that has no API, or when IT wants automation governed alongside the rest of the Microsoft estate. It is built for organisation-wide rollouts, and its per-user and per-bot plans are structured for that; for a handful of simple personal automations, a lighter tool further down this list may be all you need.

06 / Best for simple personal and smart home automations

IFTTT

IFTTT links two or more apps with automations it calls Applets: choose a trigger, pick an action and customise it to your needs. It counts more than 1,000 apps, services and devices, and its reach into smart home devices and phones sets it apart from the business-focused platforms on this list. It also has AI services that summarise, transform and translate information, with integrations for tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.

IFTTT prices by the number of Applets you can run rather than by tasks. At the time of writing, the free plan includes 2 Applets at standard speeds with unlimited runs. Pro, published at $2.99 a month, raises that to 20 Applets and adds multi-action Applets and webhooks, and Pro+, at $8.99 a month, has unlimited Applets, AI services, multiple accounts and filter code.

Choose IFTTT when your automations are personal or small: a post saved to a spreadsheet, a notification when something changes, a device that reacts to your phone. A limit on Applets rather than on runs suits automations that fire often but are few in number. If your workflows run to many steps with branching logic, the builders higher up this list are designed around that kind of work.

Every platform here counts something different, so compare them on the workflows you actually run rather than on a headline price. For reference, Zapier bills Zaps by tasks and Agents by activities; at the time of writing its published paid plans start at $19.99 a month billed annually, or $29.99 billed monthly, for 750 tasks. For general automation, the choice is between the builders. For lead response and follow-up, the choice is whether to build it at all.

We checked each tool’s public website on 11 September 2026 for this page. Plans and features change, so check each vendor’s own site for the current detail. Product names are trademarks of their owners, and Bold Agent Kit is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

Which Zapier alternative should you choose?

If your Zaps are mostly about leads, the form that becomes a contact, the text that needs a reply, the booking, the follow-up that should stop when they answer, choose Bold Agent Kit. It replaces that chain with one agent on chat, texts, calls, email and eleven DM platforms, with booking and stop rules built in, for $25 a month for the account. Keep an automation platform for anything else you run; the two sit side by side and do not connect.

If your automation is general work, choose among the builders by how your team works. Make suits people who think visually and want branching scenarios on a canvas. n8n suits technical teams who want to self-host, write code, or be counted per workflow run rather than per action. Power Automate suits businesses already on Microsoft, especially where a legacy desktop system is involved. IFTTT suits personal and smart home automations, with a free plan to start on.

If what you really want is AI that does the work rather than a workflow with an AI step, look at Lindy for work done for your own team, across your inbox, meetings and tools. And if Zapier is doing its job and the bill makes sense for your volume, staying put is a reasonable answer too. The best alternative is sometimes a second tool for one job, not a replacement for everything.

Each agent uses a model on your own API key, in the same way it sends from your own mailbox and your own phone number. Sixteen providers are supported: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, xAI and Mistral; DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, Qwen and MiniMax; Groq, Together, Fireworks and OpenRouter; and Ollama or any other OpenAI-compatible endpoint you host yourself.

Bring your own credentials and you own the whole stack: your model provider, your mailboxes, your carrier, your CRM. We charge for the software and nothing else — no token markup, no metering, no credit packs — so your provider bills you direct at their rates, usually a few dollars a month per agent.

What is the best Zapier alternative?

It depends on what your Zaps do. If most of them exist to answer leads and chase them up, Bold Agent Kit is the better fit: one AI agent answers chat, texts, calls, email and DMs, books the appointment and follows up, for $25 a month for the account. For general automation, Make is the closest like-for-like choice for visual, branching workflows; n8n suits technical teams who want to self-host or write code; Power Automate suits businesses on Microsoft; Lindy suits teams who want an AI assistant to do the work; and IFTTT suits simple personal automations.

Why do people switch from Zapier?

Usually for one of four reasons. Zapier bills Zaps by tasks, one per successful action, so a busy workflow needs a bigger allowance as volume grows, and Zapier Agents are billed separately by activities. Some teams want to self-host or write code where a visual step runs out. Some run on Microsoft and want automation beside their data. And some find their Zaps are really a lead-response system built from parts, and would rather buy that system finished. None of these makes Zapier the wrong tool for general automation; they are where the comparing starts.

How is Bold Agent Kit different from Zapier?

Zapier is a general automation platform: you connect apps into Zaps and agents that you design, billed by tasks and activities. Bold Agent Kit does one job, customer conversations and follow-up, and it comes already built: one agent on email, texts, phone calls, website chat and eleven DM platforms, one knowledge base, real calendar booking, and follow-up that stops on a reply, a booking or an opt-out on any channel. It is $25 a month or $200 a year for the account. The full side-by-side is on our Bold Agent Kit vs Zapier comparison page.

Does Bold Agent Kit connect to Zapier?

No. Bold Agent Kit does not integrate with Zapier, Make, n8n or any other automation tool, and it has no public API or webhooks for one to connect to. It connects directly to eighteen CRMs, calendars and stores, including HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Calendly, Stripe and Shopify. If you keep Zapier for internal work, the two run side by side for different jobs: Zapier for operations, Bold Agent Kit for the conversations with customers, each keeping its own records.

Is there a free Zapier alternative?

Yes, with limits. IFTTT has a free plan with two Applets at standard speeds. n8n's Community Edition is free to self-host with almost the complete feature set, though its documentation says it needs setup through npm, Docker or a server, and the technical resources to run it. Power Automate offers a free trial covering cloud flows and standard connectors, and n8n Cloud a 14-day trial with no card. Bold Agent Kit is not free, but it has a 7-day free trial, and after that it is $25 a month for the whole account.

Is Make a good alternative to Zapier?

For general automation, Make is the closest like-for-like alternative. It builds scenarios on a visual canvas, where routers and filters let one scenario branch, and its homepage counts more than 3,000 pre-built apps against Zapier's 9,000+. It bills by credits, one per module action, where Zapier bills Zaps by tasks, one per successful action. At the time of writing, its published paid plans start at $12 a month billed monthly. Which suits you depends on your workflows, so compare both against the ones you actually run.

Which Zapier alternative is best for AI agents?

It depends on who the agent is working for. Lindy is an AI teammate for your own staff, working in Slack, iMessage and Gmail across more than 1,000 tools. n8n has an AI Agent node for building agents inside workflows, with any LLM, memory, tools and human approval steps. Make has Make AI Agents, listed as open beta in its help centre. Power Automate uses Copilot to build flows from natural language. For an agent that talks to your customers on chat, texts, calls, email and DMs, Bold Agent Kit is built for exactly that one job.

Can I build lead response in Zapier instead?

You can, and many businesses do: a Zap for new form entries, one for inbound texts, an AI step that drafts a reply, a calendar action, and Delay steps holding back a follow-up. What you take on is the design and the upkeep: choosing an app for each channel, keeping the routes in step, making one person out of a chat visitor and a caller, and stopping the follow-up when they reply. Bold Agent Kit is that system already assembled, at one flat price. If you enjoy building and your volume suits task billing, Zapier remains a sound way to do it.
