Is Bold Agent Kit better than Botpress?
For some buyers, yes, and for others, no. A support operation that wants its AI to issue refunds, update accounts and run multi-step workflows inside its systems, with a helpdesk that routes to teams, or a developer who wants a visual builder with code and an API, will be better served by Botpress. A small business, sales team or agency that wants one agent answering email, texts, phone calls, website chat and eleven DM platforms, following up on every lead and booking into the calendar, for $25 a month with no conversation count, will usually find Bold Agent Kit the better fit.
What is the difference between Bold Agent Kit and Botpress?
Botpress is an AI customer support platform. Its agents take actions such as refunds and account updates, it has a helpdesk, Botpress Desk, and it offers a visual builder, Studio, and a prompt-based builder, Viber. It prices per conversation, with AI usage included up to a plan allowance. Bold Agent Kit is one agent configured with a knowledge base and written instructions, answering on fifteen channels, running follow-up campaigns across email, text and calls, booking real calendar slots and reporting a funnel of people. It prices per account at $25 a month, with the AI on your own key.
How does Botpress pricing compare with Bold Agent Kit?
Botpress charges per conversation, meaning any exchange with at least two end-user messages in the month. At the time of writing, its published paid plans start at $150 a month billed annually for Plus, with 250 conversations, $25 of AI usage and packs of 100 more at $65 added automatically; Team is $750 a month billed annually. Botpress says workspaces created before 14 May 2026 keep its earlier pricing. Bold Agent Kit is $25 a month or $200 a year for the account, with no conversation count, unlimited agents, and the AI billed by your own provider at cost.
Can I move my Botpress bot to Bold Agent Kit?
Not automatically, but the content moves easily by hand. Upload the documents your Botpress Knowledge Base used as PDF or Word files, turn the answers your flows gave into Q&A pairs, enter prices, hours and lead times as data points, and write your escalation rules as instructions. What does not carry over is anything that relied on Botpress actions, custom code, Tables or API calls, such as issuing refunds or updating records in other systems; in Bold Agent Kit those become the moments the agent hands the thread to you.
When is Botpress the better choice?
When the AI needs to do things, not just say things. If you want an agent that approves and issues refunds under the conditions a person would, updates accounts, reissues orders and runs multi-step workflows, inside a helpdesk with teams, routing and macros, or on top of Zendesk or Intercom, Botpress is built for that. It is also the better choice for developers who want a drag-and-drop builder with a code editor, Tables and API access. Bold Agent Kit does not take those actions, has no helpdesk routing and no code or API.
Can Bold Agent Kit issue refunds or update accounts?
No, and that is by design. It reads a connected CRM or store to see what a person bought, what is still open and what they are worth, answers from that record, books and cancels calendar appointments it was shown, and writes notes back to the CRM. It does not issue refunds, cancel orders, change addresses or take payments. You write those as the moments it stops and fetches you, and the thread lands in your inbox with the full history and the agent standing down until you hand it back.
Does Bold Agent Kit answer phone calls on the entry plan?
Yes. There is only one plan, and calls are in it. They run on your own Twilio number, with separate switches for answering and dialling, real-time speech on your provider's fastest model, transcription from Google or Deepgram, and a voice from Google, Amazon Polly or ElevenLabs, or your own cloned voice on an ElevenLabs or Fish Audio key. Recordings and transcripts land in the inbox. You pay Twilio for the minutes at their rates and nothing to us per call. Botpress's pricing page lists its voice channel among the Enterprise plan's additions.
Which channels does each one cover?
Botpress lists Webchat, email, WhatsApp, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook Messenger and voice, and its Viber builder publishes to Webchat, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Messenger, Slack, or Twilio for voice and SMS. Bold Agent Kit covers email through your own mailboxes with warm-up and health scoring, texts through nine carriers, phone calls on Twilio, a website chat widget, and eleven DM platforms: Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE, Viber, Slack, Discord, Bluesky, Reddit and X. All of them are on the one $25 plan, each switched on separately.
