How Bold Agent Kit and Manychat compare: engagement automation, or an agent for every conversation
Manychat and Bold Agent Kit both answer people who message a business on social media, and both can use AI to do it. They start from different places. Manychat is chat marketing for creators, social media marketers, e-commerce brands and agencies. Its home is Instagram, and its best-known move is the comment trigger: a follower comments a keyword under a Reel and a DM arrives with the link, the discount or the lead magnet, often asking for an email address on the way. Around that it builds welcome messages, follow-to-DM, story replies, giveaways, broadcasts and a visual Flow Builder, across Instagram, TikTok, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email.
Bold Agent Kit starts from the conversation rather than the trigger. It is one agent, configured with your documents, Q&A pairs, prices, hours and the pages of your site it may link to, plus written instructions, that answers whoever writes to you: the Instagram DM, the WhatsApp message, the Telegram question, the email, the text, the phone call and the website chat. It answers from that material and nothing else, asks for the booking and writes it into your calendar, reads the connected CRM or store before it replies, and merges the Instagram handle, the email address and the phone number into one contact so nobody is treated as a stranger twice.
That means each does things the other does not. Manychat replies to public comments, runs comment-to-DM and follow-to-DM flows, sends broadcasts and works on TikTok; Bold Agent Kit does none of those. Bold Agent Kit answers phone calls, runs a website chat widget, works your own mailboxes with warm-up, covers LINE, Viber, Slack, Discord, Bluesky, Reddit and X, and books real calendar slots itself; those are outside what Manychat describes on its site. If your growth comes from Reels and comment keywords, that difference matters a great deal. If it comes from people asking questions on six channels, it matters in the other direction.
The pricing models differ as well. Manychat charges by Active Contacts, the people you interact with each month, with an allowance per plan and a published rate for each additional contact, and plan tiers that set how many channels, users and Inbox seats you get. Bold Agent Kit charges $25 a month or $200 a year for the account, with unlimited contacts, every channel and unlimited agents, and the AI on your own key, billed by your provider at cost. A viral month is where the two models feel most different.
