Bold Agent Kit vs Smartlead
Compared for agencies and teams.

Bold Agent Kit vs Smartlead, compared for the agencies and teams who run cold email: both connect unlimited mailboxes, warm them and rotate the sends. Smartlead builds lead data, dedicated servers, placement testing and a power dialer around the sending, in plans tiered by contacts and sends. Bold Agent Kit is one AI agent per client that answers the reply, places the call and books the meeting, at $25 a month for the account.

Every channel wired into one agent and out to the tools behind it: email, SMS, phone, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE, Slack, Discord, X, Reddit, Bluesky, website chat, campaign sequences and follow-ups on one side; HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Calendly, HubSpot Meetings, Zoho Bookings, Acuity Scheduling, Cal.com, Square Appointments, Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix and Squarespace on the other.

Unlimited mailboxes in both, with a score out of 100 on each one here

Smartlead's pricing page says every plan includes unlimited email accounts at no extra cost, and that sending rotates automatically across the mailboxes in a campaign. Its warm-up runs from the moment a mailbox is connected, in a private pool, and it sells mailboxes through SmartSenders and dedicated servers through SmartServers. Bold Agent Kit also takes as many mailboxes as you connect per agent, Gmail or Outlook with an app password and anything else as an SMTP and IMAP host, rotated by campaigns and sent through your own server.

Each mailbox that opts in warms up on a ramp from five a day, and the receiving side finds the mail, pulls it out of spam, marks it read and replies to a share of it. The agent's Email tab shows a health score out of 100 for every address, from SPF, DKIM and DMARC, seven days of real sends and bounces, and where its warm-up mail is landing, with the reasons listed. A mailbox that crosses the bounce or spam threshold rests itself.

An agent's Email tab with three mailboxes connected, each showing a Good 90 health score, warm-up day and inbox placement, SPF, DKIM and DMARC checks, and an Active toggle.

The agent writes the answer from your material, and books the slot

Smartlead's master inbox pulls the replies from every mailbox into one place, tags them by intent, lets you assign a thread to a teammate, leave internal notes and apply bulk actions, and can trigger workflows on words like "interested", route leads into follow-up sequences or booking calendars, and automate first-touch responses. It is laid out for a team working a large volume of replies across many clients.

Bold Agent Kit starts from the other end: an agent that holds the conversation. The reply comes back over IMAP and the agent answers the question that was actually asked, from your Q&A pairs, documents, data points and the pages of your site you allowed, from the address it arrived at, once per thread. When the person is ready it offers real open slots from your connected calendar and writes the booking. Reply yourself and it stands down on that thread; hand it back when you are done.

The Inbox as one list: web chat, texts and calls together, a call marked no answer, a completed call that booked a roof inspection, texts confirming a Thursday appointment and asking the price, each row tagged with the channel it arrived on.

The call is a step the agent places itself, on your own number

Smartlead's SmartDialer is a power dialer for outbound SDR teams: reps work through a managed call queue with scripts and lead assignment, calling sits as a step beside email in the sequence, calls are recorded and transcribed, and it runs on its own credit plans with local US numbers. It is built to put a team of reps on the phone with the email history in front of them.

Bold Agent Kit's call step is made by the agent. On day 5, on your own Twilio number, it calls whoever has not answered, speaks in real time from the script you saved, answers questions from the same knowledge base as the emails, and keeps the recording and transcript on the person's row. The text step before it goes out on your own number through one of nine carriers, with a sending window and a Reply STOP line. No rep has to be free.

The text messages card in the campaign builder: which agent's number sends, texts per hour per number, a TCPA consent tick with the 9am to 8pm sending window and the Reply STOP line, and the opening text of the sequence.

The same agent answers the website chat and the phone

Smartlead describes itself as cold email outreach software, and its products are arranged around sending: infrastructure, warm-up, lead finding, the master inbox and the dialer. Bold Agent Kit's agent works both directions. Put the chat widget on your site with one line of script, in your colour, with your image and greeting, and the agent that sent the cold email answers the visitor who asks the price, from the same knowledge base, and books them.

The same agent can answer the support@ mailbox, incoming calls on your number, and direct messages on Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and eight other platforms. Every handle a person uses is merged into one record, so the prospect who ignored the email and opened the chat a week later is recognised, and the agent reads the history before it replies. One inbox shows all of it, newest first, tagged by channel.

A website chat conversation in the Inbox: the visitor asks how much it is, the agent answers with the price and a link, the visitor's story is drawn across the top, and a reply box lets a person take the thread over.

How Bold Agent Kit and Smartlead compare, from the mailbox to the meeting

Smartlead and Bold Agent Kit start in the same place. Both connect as many mailboxes as you like without charging per address, warm them up, and rotate a campaign across them. From there they grow in different directions. Smartlead has built a set of products around the sending: SmartProspect for verified leads, SmartSenders for bought mailboxes, SmartServers for dedicated servers and IPs, SmartDelivery for placement testing, SmartDialer for reps on the phone, SmartAgents and SmartAssistant for automation, a master inbox and a CRM, with an API and webhooks underneath. Bold Agent Kit is one AI agent that carries the conversation on every channel you connect.

The pricing follows the shape. At the time of writing, Smartlead's published plans start at $39 a month and are tiered by contacts stored and email sends a month, with a monthly allowance of verified prospect emails, and several of the products above appear on its pricing page as add-ons with their own prices, including white-labelling per client workspace. Bold Agent Kit is $25 a month or $200 a year for the whole account: unlimited agents, mailboxes, contacts and lists, every channel, and a login for each client, with nothing added per client.

The largest practical difference is who does the talking once a prospect engages. In Bold Agent Kit it is the agent: it answers the reply from your knowledge base, books into real calendar slots, sends the text on your number when the email was not opened, places the follow-up call itself on your Twilio number, and answers the website chat and the Instagram message from the same material. For an agency, that is one agent per client, each with its own mailboxes, number, knowledge base and calendar, and nothing shared between them.

The largest difference the other way is the depth of the sending stack. Smartlead offers lead data from more than 300 million verified business profiles, dedicated server infrastructure, seed-list placement testing, bought and pre-warmed mailboxes, white-labelled client workspaces, and an API with webhooks and Zapier, Make and n8n connections. Bold Agent Kit has no contact database and does not rebrand, and its integrations are the eighteen calendars, CRMs and stores on this page. If those are what you need, Smartlead is built for it.

Four reasons Smartlead customers compare it with something else

None of these is about how well Smartlead sends. They are about how its plans and add-ons are laid out on its own pricing page, and about who does the work once a prospect answers.

01

Contacts and sends set the tier

Smartlead's plans are tiered by contacts stored and email sends a month, with a monthly allowance of verified prospect emails. For an agency, a new client with a large file or a campaign that doubles its volume can mean a plan change, and the tier is one more number to keep an eye on each month.

02

The pieces are priced separately

Placement testing, dedicated servers, calling credits, verification credits, bought mailboxes and white-labelling each appear on Smartlead's pricing page as add-ons or plan features. Each is a reasonable product. An agency that needs several of them for each client has more than one line to plan for before the first campaign goes out.

03

A team works the replies

Smartlead's master inbox gathers every reply, tags it by intent and assigns it to a teammate, and can automate first responses and route leads into sequences or booking calendars. A business without a reply team, or an agency that wants each client's conversations held end to end by an agent working from that client's own material, compares it with a tool built that way.

04

The dialer is built for reps

SmartDialer is described as a power dialer for outbound SDR teams working a managed call queue. A business with no reps, or one that wants the day 5 follow-up call made on schedule at 10am without anybody free to make it, is looking for something else: a call the agent places and holds itself.

One agent per client, carrying the conversation on every channel

Bold Agent Kit puts the conversation first. Build one agent per brand or per client, give it the mailboxes, numbers and knowledge that belong to it, and it sends, answers, calls and books on its own, fetching a person only for the threads you named.

01 / Lands

Mailboxes warmed, scored and rested

Connect as many mailboxes per agent as the client has, with no per-address fee. Each one that opts in warms up on a ramp from five a day, with spam rescue and replies from the network, and carries a health score out of 100 built from SPF, DKIM, DMARC, seven days of sends and bounces, and placement, with the reasons listed. Cross the threshold and it leaves rotation on its own; the campaign carries on through the others.

02 / Talks

Answers, texts, calls and books

The agent answers each reply from the client's own Q&A pairs, documents and data points, from the address it reached, once per thread, and books real open slots into the client's calendar. When the email is not opened, the same campaign sends a text on the client's number and then places a call, spoken by the agent. A reply, a booking or an opt-out on any channel ends the sequence on all of them.

03 / Separates

One agent, one client, nothing shared

Unlimited agents on one account, each with its own identity, knowledge base, channels, contacts and analytics. Content from one agent is never used to reply for another, so direct competitors can sit on the same account. Invite a client into their own agent and they see its inbox, numbers, mailboxes and analytics, with a reply box to take over a thread, and nothing of your other clients, keys or billing.

Every client in its own agent, on one flat plan

Smartlead's pricing page offers client workspaces from its Pro plan upwards, with three included on Unlimited Prime, and lists white-labelling, at the time of writing, at $29 a month per client workspace. Bold Agent Kit has no per-client price at all. One plan, $25 a month or $200 a year, holds unlimited agents: build one per client with that client's own mailboxes, number, knowledge base, calendar and CRM, and invite the client into their own agent with their own login. They see the dashboard in this screenshot for their agent: people reached, replied, visited and converted, and the value won.

To be exact about what that is: the client gets a login onto a dashboard for their agent, and nothing of the builder or your account is visible to them. Access is deny-by-default. It does not put your logo on the product or run on your own domain, and we do not claim that it does. If full white-labelling under your brand is a requirement, that is a point for Smartlead. If what your clients need is to see their own threads and their own funnel, it is included, however many clients you have.

The Bold Agent Kit dashboard: 157 people reached, 89 replied, 59 visited the site, 9 converted and $4,050 of value won over the last 30 days, with a breakdown by channel and by agent, and recent journeys underneath.

What an agency or a team gets from the move

Four things, each answering one of the reasons above, and each running without anybody remembering to do it.

Pricing

Flat, however many clients

One plan for the account. Twenty clients, two hundred mailboxes and a list that doubles next month cost what one client costs today.

Replies

Answered and booked

Each reply answered from that client's own material, from the address it reached, and the meeting written into a real slot on that client's calendar.

Calls

Made by the agent

The day 5 call placed on schedule on your Twilio number, spoken from your script, with the recording and transcript kept on the person's row.

Clients

Their own login

Each client sees their agent's inbox and funnel, and can reply in a thread themselves. Nothing of your other clients, your keys or your billing.

And each client sees the people it reached, not the emails it sent

Every send, open, click, reply, text, call and booking is recorded against a person and reported as a funnel for each agent, and across all agents for you. For an agency, that is the month-end view, one agent per client, without building a report.

The Bold Agent Kit dashboard: 157 people reached, 89 replied, 59 visited the site, 9 converted and $4,050 of value won over the last 30 days, with a breakdown by channel and by agent, and recent journeys underneath.

The funnel counts people rather than messages: how many each client's campaigns reached, how many replied, how many visited the client's site and how many converted, with the total value won and the median time from first touch to conversion. Opens and clicks are recorded per campaign and written to each person's history, so a step conditioned on "not opened" has real data behind it. Set a goal with a dollar value, a page rule or a manual "won", and each client's campaign reports what it made, which is the number a client asks about.

Below the funnel, a channel table shows where each person first responded and which channel they were on when they converted, so you can show a client whether the cold email, the text or the call did the work. A pages table shows what known people read on the site before they booked. One row per person shows every send, open, reply, text, call and booking in order. The client sees all of this for their own agent through their own login, and you see every agent from yours.

Journey view

Every event for one person

Built from the cookie, email address and phone number attached to that contact, so activity months apart on different channels appears on one row.

A journey row for one contact: their address, then every email reply in order along a single line, with earlier events folded up behind a +5.
Visit triggers

Follow up on a return visit

Page goals and visit triggers require a one-line snippet on your website. Conversations, bookings and manually marking a deal won work without it.

A saved visit trigger: when a lead visits /thank-you, email me after 20 minutes, once per 7 days, with a fired count and an on switch.

Which one, for which team

Three honest cases. Some agencies and teams move across, some run both side by side, and some are better served staying where they are.

It books your calendar, updates your CRM and knows what they bought

Connect the tools you already run and the agent works them like an assistant would: it takes appointments straight into your calendar, writes notes and outcomes back to the CRM, and reads your store to see what somebody has bought before it answers them.

Bookings are real, not guesses. It is only ever given slots that are genuinely free, and it can only take one it actually offered — so it cannot invent a time or double-book you. The same connection pulls a segment of past customers into a list when you want to run a campaign at them.

None of it matters if the email lands in spam

A new address sending forty cold emails a day gets filtered, and takes the domain with it. Mailboxes that opt into warm-up send each other ordinary mail on a ramp, starting at five a day. The receiving mailbox finds each message, moves it out of spam if it landed there, marks it read and replies to a share of them.

Each mailbox carries a health score out of 100 — SPF, DKIM and DMARC on the sending domain, seven days of real sends and bounces, and where its own warm-up mail is landing — with the reasons listed. A mailbox whose bounce rate or spam placement passes a threshold is pulled out of campaign rotation automatically, before it damages the domain.

Moving from Smartlead this week, one client at a time

Three steps per client. Your Smartlead campaigns can keep running while you build; a campaign in Bold Agent Kit is created as a draft and shows the whole plan, every contact, mailbox and step, before it sends anything.

Build one agent per client before you move anything

Start with your largest client. Name the agent, choose a model and paste a key, yours or one the client holds, so the model usage can be billed to them directly by their provider. Then load the client's knowledge: Q&A pairs for the replies their campaigns get, prices, hours and lead times as data points, their documents, and the pages of their site the agent may link to. Paste the email copy you were running on Smartlead into saved templates, with a text and a call script beside them.

Write the instructions last: the client's tone, what the agent may offer, and the replies it must hand to a person. Each agent has its own knowledge base, and nothing in it is ever used to reply for another client, so a direct competitor can have the next agent on the same account.

Reconnect the client's mailboxes, number and calendar

Add every mailbox the client sends from. Gmail and Outlook take an app password; anything else is entered as an SMTP and IMAP host. Switch warm-up on, check each health score, fix any DNS record it names as missing, and leave the Active toggle on for the addresses that are ready. There is no per-mailbox fee, so connect every address the client has.

Then add the client's number for the text and call steps, the calendar the agent books into, and the CRM or store it should read before it writes. Bring the client's contacts across as a CSV, pull a segment from the connected CRM, or build a fresh list with the Chrome side panel.

Rebuild the sequence, invite the client, press Start

Rebuild the Smartlead sequence as a campaign: the email on day 0, the second email to the people who opened, the text on day 2 to the rest, the call on day 5 to whoever is still silent. Set the days, hours and time zone, the hourly cap per mailbox and the condition on each step, and read the whole plan on the review screen. Nothing sends until you press Start.

Invite the client into their agent with their own login. They see the inbox, the mailboxes, the numbers and the funnel, and can reply in any thread themselves; the agent stands down until they hand it back. Then build the next client's agent the same way. The plan does not change as you add them.

One account, unlimited agents

One account runs unlimited agents, one per client, and nothing is shared between them. A knowledge base belongs to a single agent, and content from one agent is never used to generate replies for another.

Invite a client by email address and they get their own login, which opens onto the one agent you gave them: its conversations, its numbers, its analytics and a reply box. They cannot see your other clients, your API keys, your settings or your billing. Access is deny-by-default.

Is Bold Agent Kit better than Smartlead?

It depends on the buyer. For an agency or a business that wants one agent per client to send cold email, answer each reply from that client's own material, text and call the people who did not open, book the meeting and handle inbound chat and DMs, on one flat $25 plan with a login per client, Bold Agent Kit covers more of that job. For a high-volume team that builds on an API and webhooks and wants lead data, dedicated servers, placement testing, bought mailboxes and full white-labelling from one vendor, Smartlead covers things Bold Agent Kit does not.

What is the difference between Bold Agent Kit and Smartlead?

Scope and pricing model. Smartlead is cold email software with a stack around the sending: lead data through SmartProspect, mailboxes through SmartSenders, dedicated servers, placement testing, a power dialer for reps, a master inbox, a CRM and an API, priced in plans tiered by contacts and sends, with add-ons. Bold Agent Kit is one AI agent per brand or client that sends from unlimited mailboxes, answers replies from its knowledge base, runs text and call steps itself, books real calendar slots and answers inbound chat, DMs and calls, for $25 a month or $200 a year for the account.

How does Smartlead pricing compare with Bold Agent Kit?

They are built differently. At the time of writing, Smartlead's published plans start at $39 a month and are tiered by contacts stored and email sends a month, with a monthly allowance of verified prospect emails and a discount for annual billing; placement testing, dedicated servers, calling, verification credits, bought mailboxes and white-labelling appear as add-ons. Check its pricing page for the current figures. Bold Agent Kit is $25 a month or $200 a year for the whole account, with unlimited agents, mailboxes, contacts and lists and a 7-day free trial. You pay your AI provider and your carrier at cost.

How do I move from Smartlead to Bold Agent Kit?

One client at a time, without switching anything off first. Build an agent for the client and give it their knowledge: Q&A pairs, documents, prices and pages. Reconnect the client's mailboxes with an app password for Gmail and Outlook, or SMTP and IMAP for anything else, switch warm-up on and read each health score. Bring their contacts across as a CSV, paste the email copy into templates, rebuild the sequence with email, text and call steps, and invite the client into their agent. Nothing sends until you press Start, so both can run while you move.

When is Smartlead the better choice?

When the sending stack matters more than who holds the conversation. Smartlead publishes an API with webhooks and connections to Zapier, Make and n8n, integrates with Salesforce and Pipedrive, and offers lead data from its verified profiles, dedicated servers and IPs, seed-list placement testing, bought and pre-warmed mailboxes, and white-labelled client workspaces. A high-volume agency that runs its operation through those, and does not need texts, agent-made calls, website chat or social DMs, may be better served there. Bold Agent Kit does not offer a contact database, dedicated servers or rebranding.

Is Bold Agent Kit white label, like Smartlead?

Not in the sense Smartlead offers. Smartlead white-labels client workspaces so an agency can present the platform as its own. Bold Agent Kit gives each client a login onto their own agent: its inbox with every conversation on every channel, its numbers and mailboxes, its analytics, and a reply box to take over a thread. They do not see the knowledge base, the instructions, the campaign builder, your keys, your billing or any other client. It does not put your logo on the product or run on your domain. Client logins are included, with no per-client charge.

How do the calls compare with SmartDialer?

They do different jobs. Smartlead's SmartDialer is a power dialer for outbound SDR teams: reps work a managed queue with scripts, calling sits beside email in the sequence, and calls are recorded and transcribed, on its own credit plans. In Bold Agent Kit the agent places the call itself as a campaign step on your own Twilio number, speaks in real time from your script using your provider's fastest model, answers from your knowledge base, and keeps the recording and transcript. Answering and dialling are separate switches, so it can pick up the callback too.

Can I find leads in Bold Agent Kit, as with SmartProspect?

Not from a database. Smartlead's SmartProspect searches its own set of verified business profiles; Bold Agent Kit does not include or sell contact data. Lists come from a CSV you upload, from a segment imported out of a connected CRM or store such as HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Shopify or Jobber, or from the Chrome side panel, which pulls email addresses, phone numbers and social profile links off the page you have open, deep scans a domain for its contact pages, and works through a CSV of sites one at a time. Contacts and lists are unlimited.
